Completing the CAPM® shows your demonstrated understanding of the fundamental knowledge, processes, and terminology as defined in A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) that are needed for effective project management performance. This knowledge can be applied to on-the-job experiences that help develop growing levels of competence in the practice of project management.

  • Work experience: 60 months experience leading projects (with a high school diploma or associate’s degree) OR 36 months experience leading projects (with a four-year degree) OR 24 months experience if you’re a graduate of a GAC program
  • Education: 60 months experience leading projects (with a high school diploma OR associate’s degree) OR 36 months experience leading projects (with a four-year degree)
  • Additional reqs: 35 hours of project management education training or CAPM® Certification
  • Cert maintenance: Must earn 60 PDUs per 3 year cycle to maintain
  • Work experience: 0-3 years in project/change management
  • Education: High school diploma
  • Additional reqs: 23 contact hours (TLA fulfills this!)
  • Cert maintenance: Must earn 15 PDUs per 3 year cycle to maintain
